What Does the Wellness Exam Include?
Exams vary depending on the age, species, and health needs of the patient. It is our job to look your pet over for any signs of illness, injury, or disease. These symptoms can be subtle in animals and it’s not always easy to tell when your friend is dealing with a health issue. That’s where our team comes in.
Our physical exams include a head-to-tail assessment where we:
- Check body weight and temperature
- Look at the eyes, ears, and nose
- Check the lymph nodes
- Look in the mouth to assess the health of the teeth and gums
- Evaluate the heart and lungs
- Feel the abdomen to check the internal organs including the kidneys and liver
- Evaluate the muscles, spine, and joints
After the examination, we carefully document our findings and give you our recommendations for any health problems we find.
